EQIP Opportunity
For Livestock Producers in Burleigh, Kidder, Emmons, and Logan Counties
The Soil Conservation Districts in the Coteau Conservation Delivery Unit have requested and received additional funding to address priority resource concerns related to livestock production limitations.
EQIP-LPL (Environmental Quality Incentives Program-Livestock Production Limitation)
- Has not been offered since FY2021 (bad drought.)
- EQIP-General is funded through 2031 and not going anywhere
- EQIP (general) is for farmers and ranchers alike, small-scale producers, absentee landowners, etc. and covers farming practices, stockwater and other ranching practices, wildlife-oriented practices, soil quality concerns, tree plantings, etc.
- There are some existing national-level fact sheets for the EQIP program available.
This funding will be used to address:
Livestock feed and forage
Grazing distribution
Livestock water quantity and quality Underproducing hay and grazing land Lack of plant species diversity
Drought resilience
Livestock protection
